SpeedTheory Calgary is proud to welcome athletes from across Canada and around the world to the Subaru Banff International Triathlon, which takes place on September 11, 2010.
Selected by Triathlete Magazine as one of the top 10 most anticipated races in the world, this sold-out event will see 750 racers compete in Olympic and Sprint distance races against the spectacular backdrop of Banff National Park.
This race environment offers everyone from recreational and elite athletes to spectators and volunteers the chance to participate in one of the most scenic races in Canada—if not the world! SpeedTheory mechanics and staff are ready to serve and support all the local and out-of-town athletes racing in Banff this Sept.
Athletes will begin the race by swimming in Two Jack Lake. Next, racers will bike along the breathtaking Minnewanka Loop and into the historic town of Banff. The run follows the banks of the glacier-fed Bow River before finishing downtown on famous Banff Avenue with the iconic Cascade Mountain as the backdrop to the finish line.
This course will favour spectators as much as racers, so if you’re free on race weekend, then consider making the trip to Banff to cheer on the athletes.
Stay tuned to the SpeedTheory newsletter to find out when registration for the 2011 Banff race open.
