June 30, 2010

Day 4 Mike went down today in the first 2km’s. He is okay. Let me say that again to dispel any panic, he is OK. He hit his head and has a minor concussion that will keep him in the hospital overnight tonight. He has a small bit of road rash on his back side [...]

Day 3 Finally a short day only 88km of riding, we should be done this in about 3-3.5 hours right? Right. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/38744808 I think the data speaks for itself that this was a very humbling, but yet beautiful, day. We learned 2 very important lessons today: 1. Finally Here

June 24, 2010

After 3 delayed flights I wasn’t sure I was going to make it here today, but I guess it’s a good thing that all 3 legs of my trip were delayed. Had a chance to meet up with Ian who I did RAAM with back in 2006. He works as a police officer at Heathrow [...]

June 23, 2010

Well, not starting out well. It took half an hour to check in once I got to the agent as she had no idea how much to charge me for my bike. Since I am changing planes and airlines during my trip, she had no idea whether she was supposed to charge for the Lufthansa [...]

And so it begins….

June 20, 2010

Well, the final ride out to Horseshoe Bay is all done and based on the gloomy weather in the background, i don’t think we’ll miss that ride for a while. Another couple of easy rides before we take off on Wednesday and then the training is pretty much done. Let the fun begin.
